A collection of early creative explorations, foundational projects and fashion based commissions between 1990 and 2000. Products developed from fashion accessories to specialist mask making and plaque design. All manufactured by Lee Rowland.
Belt Buckle Collection
Manufactured in brass with the occasional precious metal commission. Chrome and gold plating where also used to embellish the products. (1989-94)
Copper and Gold Masks
Designed in 1994 for the bass guitarist of ICE-T's Body Count (after an initial belt buckle request), the gangster-themed mask and casket utilized real bullet casings for teeth and casket fittings.
Mahoghany Salon Plaque
Produced for UK champion hairdresser Mark Hill manufactured from mahogany with gold plated brass inlay and scroll work.
Plaque in Simulated Stone
Produced for Mr and Mrs Smith for a selection of their hotels. Extruded lettering on top of a cloned slate texture reproduced in polyurethane resin
Mint Bar Stool
Created for the Mint club at back to basics Leeds in 1997. Robust stainless steel legs are crowned by a white, gel coated fibre glass seat
Tag Heuer Top
Commissioned by Alexander McQueen 1n 1999. The top was a series of 6 manufactured to launch a new watchlink by Tag Heuer. White metal was used in the manufacture of 15.000 watchlinks which were made into the garment shown.
Dagger Stiletto Shoe Heels
Produced from a sketch for Katharine Hamnett in 2000. Fabricated in chrome plated tool steel set in gold plated brass heel mounts. One of six.
Sex Sculpture
Artist’s own metallic reproduction of lovemaking. Produced in brass, aluminised glass. chromium steel balls and sterling silver.
Silver Soap Dish
Free standing soap dish produced as a pre-production sample for Czech and Speake London. 1994. Designed and manufactured by Rowland
