Copper and Gold Masks

Designed in 1994 for the bass guitarist of ICE-T's Body Count (after an initial belt buckle request), the gangster-themed mask and casket utilized real bullet casings for teeth and casket fittings.

Inspired by work on stage wear for Ice-T's rock band BODYCOUNT, this project fused dark inspiration with the artistic goal of transforming mechanized body armor and weaponry into fashion accessories. The mask and its oak casket required 450 hours of meticulous labor, completed in May 1994. It is hand-forged from copper, titanium, aluminum, bronze, and steel. The finished piece features a functional, mechanized jaw and a precise, 22ct gold-plated interior.
