Lets make no mistake about it Artistic is just one quality of Koons hypnotic
stainless steel balloon work. It exhausts me listening to people who seem so ready to disregard his work.The balloon dog (left)is a marvel of modern engineering. It looks epically beautiful. For those who are so keen to disagree, How many works do you know of similar scale that look as compelling when viewed from 50 metres away. There are few that can flaunt
such credentials There is something enchantingly unatural about it. For me it most definitely works. Sure it,s Art, Art can cost a fortune and it sells, there are far more ludicrous things to spend $11 million dollars on than an aesthetic feast such as this.
There are many ways to achieve what Jeff koons has managed to do here via
a legion of acutely trained advanced sheet metal workers. I am intrigued to know if he played a physical part in role of their manufacture. There are
several ways to produce the same immaculate results and far quicker than Jeff ! it tempts me so to summon up these processes to create a cover version of my own. As much a tribute as a massively rewarding creative exercise. If not a dog I do have a strong inclination to rework one of his crocuses.
